Thomas Heiberg Brix (THB) is Associate professor of Endocrinology at University of Southern Denmark, in Odense and Consultant Endocrinologist at Department of Endocrinology, Odense University Hospital. He graduated from the University of Southern Denmark (1993) and became a Consultant in 2008. His Ph.d. thesis (2001) is entitled: “Genetic and environmental factors in the etiology of autoimmune thyroid disease. A population-based twin study’.
THB is a long-standing member as well as a past member of the executive committee of the European Thyroid Association (ETA). THB has authored around 100 papers and being a member of the ETA he has had annual presentations for the last 15 years. Main research areas are: Etiology of autoimmune thyroid disease, and in recent years the long-term consequences of hypo- and hyperthyroidism.
