Prof. Dr. Emese Mezosi MD, PhD, DSc, is internist and endocrinologist, she is the Head of Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism, Ist Department of Medicine, University of Pecs. She is the current president of the Thyroid Section in the Hungarian Society of Endocrinology and Metabolism. Her main interest is the pathomechanism of thyroid diseases, mainly differentiated thyroid cancer and autoimmune thyroiditis. She worked on the regulation of thyroid cell apoptosis and conducted clinical research in the area of diagnosis of thyroid nodules, prognostic role of SPECT/CT after radioiodine treatment in DTC. Predictive biomarkers were also investigated in critical illness and posttraumatic hypopituitarism. Number if publications: 160, Citation index: 3539, Hirsch index: 18.
