Endre V. Nagy, MD, PhD, D.Sc. received his medical degree from University of Debrecen, Hungary. After endocrine fellowship training in Debrecen, he joined the endocrine research team at Walter Reed Medical Center, Washington D.C. for two years as a Fogarty fellow. He has served as member of the Educational Committee of the ETA and the Surgical Task Force of the ATA. He is past president of the Hungarian Society of Endocrinology and Metabolism. Currently he is chief of the Division of Endocrinology at the Department of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, University of Debrecen. His research focuses on the pathogenesis of autoimmune thyroid diseases, Graves’ orbitopathy, iodine deficiency, thyroid nodules and cancer, endocrine consequences of traumatic brain injury and the utilization of new nuclear imaging techniques in endocrinology. He has published more than 100 research papers and is one of the authors of the Krakow Declaration on Iodine.
