Marek Ruchala, MD, PhD

Graduated from Poznan University of Medical Sciences in 1988, completed his PhD in 1997, became an assistant professor in 2008 and professor of endocrinology in 2010. He is a specialist in internal medicine, endocrinology and nuclear medicine, with over 30-year experience in thyroid ultrasound examination and fine-needle aspiration biopsy. Since 2011 he has been a head of the Department of Endocrinology, Metabolism and Internal Medicine and the Department of Ultrasound Diagnostics of Endocrine Glands at Poznan University of Medical Sciences, as well as have a function of Chancellor for Science of the University. Currently he holds the position of the President of Polish Society of Endocrinology and Secretary of Polish Thyroid Association. His is a representative of Polish Society of Endocrinology in ESE Council of Affiliated Societies. His area of clinical and scientific interest is thyroidology, especially thyroid imaging, systemic consequences of thyroid dysfunction and thyroid cancer, but also involve the issues of acromegaly and biologically active peptides. He is an author of 380 scientific publications of Impact Factor over 670.
